Alcohol Action Alert
Oppose Sunday Sales of Alcohol
July 18, 2006
An ordinance to legalize Sunday morning sales of alcohol in Springfield will be discussed in the Public Affairs Committee on Monday, July 31, at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. We need many people to attend this committee hearing. If the city of Springfield increases the hour of alcohol sales, it will impact all of Sangamon County and increase underage drinking.
We need to stop the ordinance from being voted out of committee. If the committee approves the ordinance, the City Council could vote on the ordinance on August 1, at 5:00 p.m. Your help is needed to generate calls to the City Aldermen who serve on the public affairs committee:
| Alderman | Ward | Phone |
|---|---|---|
| Chuck Redpath | 4 | 523-5862 |
| Frank Edwards | 1 | 529-0973 |
| Mark Mahoney | 6 | 544-7944 |
| Thomas Selinger | 9 | 793-2072 |
| Judy Yeager | 7 | 793-1766 |
