Massive Gambling Expansion Introduced - HB 480
Today Rep. Lou Lang introduced a massive gambling expansion bill. HB 480 will triple the amount of casino-style gambling in Illinois. The bill will legalize 4 new casino licenses. The Chicago casino will have 4,000 gambling positions and 2,000 poisitions at the other 3 casinos.
- A land based casino in Chicago with more gambling positions than any other casino.
- A casino in the South Suburbs of Cook County--in the townships of Bloom, Thornton, Rich, Orland, Calumet, Worth, Palos, Bremen, or Lemont.
- A casino in Waukegan on Lake Michigan.
- A casino located in a municipality within 10 miles of O'Hare Airport.
HB 480 also transforms 5 race tracks into land-based casinos by legalizing 3,800 slot machines at race tracks and expanding the number of gambling positions at existing casinos from 1,200 to 2,000.

- Call (800-642-3112) or e-mail the Governor and tell him to oppose HB 480 -- the massive gambling expansion bill.
- Contact your state Representative and state Senator at www.ilga.gov or by calling the State operator at 217-782-2000 and ask them to Vote NO on HB 480, which is a massive expansion of gambling in Illinois.
