Gambling Action Alert

Legislative leaders and the Governor met yesterday, and gambling expansion and a casino for Chicago are still being considered. A "back room" deal could be worked out this week. Gambling cannot and will not solve the budget problems in Illinois.

Calls need to go into the Legislative leaders, the Governor, and your own legislators asking them to "take gambling off the table" in the budget negotiations--NO MORE GAMBLING.

For Immediate Action

1. Call Legislative leaders Speaker Madigan (217-782-5350), Rep. Tom Cross (217-782-1331) and Sen. Frank Watson (217-782-5755) and leave a message telling them to take gambling off the table in the budget negotiations--NO MORE GAMBLING.
2. Call the Governor (800-800-642-3112) and ask him to keep his promise not to expand gambling and pass a budget with NO MORE GAMBLING.
3. Please ask 10 people in your church, Synagogue, or Mosque to make phone calls. If you have a service tonight, please ask if you can make an announcement encouraging people to call.
4. Forward to 10 others.
