SB 2099 and HB 4128 Expand the Lottery to the Internet
Two bills will be heard in Committee on Wednesday afternoon, March 12. SB 2099 legalizes the sale of Lottery tickets by any "electronic means". This could include Keno, Video Lottery Terminals, an the Internet. HB 4128 legalizes Lottery sales on the Internet and other electronic means.
For Immediate Action
- Call your State Senator (217-782-2000) and tell him/her that SB 2099 is an expansion of gambling. Ask him/her to oppose electronic Lottery sales which could include Keno, Video Lottery Terminals, and Internet gambling.
- Call your State Representative (217-782-2000) and ask him to OPPOSE HB 4128, which legalizes Lottery on the Internet. Anyone 18 and older could apply for a Lottery Account and gamble on public or private computers, cell phones, or blackberries.
