| Walter Steele | L | 12 | Thought I am deeply troubled, as are you, by the high toll addictions take on our society, I do not believe government prohibition of these activities can solve the problem. They only serve to force the affliction underground and away from the real help offered by faith-based and secular counseling and treatment progrms. |
| Gloria Schor Andersen | D | 13 | I have contributed to MADD in the past. We were very against the "lottery" and placement of the "storefronts" in poorer areas. I really am upset about state funds used for advertising & promoting gambling. |
| Ruben Zamora | D | 14 | (1) I don't know how we can ban internet gambling, the internet should be an individuals choice. The internet, like the ocean, does nto belong to anybody. I respect a person's right to choose and regulate individual use. (2) I believe gambling in Nevada, particularly sports betting, is a state issue. (4) I support Native American's Nation's Rights. It is their choice to offer gambling or not. Although I do not support gambling, I do not want to dictate to Americans what they should do about it. People have a right to choose -- unfortunately, too many that cannot afford to lose -- do. |
| David Gill | D | 15 | As an E.R. doctor who deals with alcohol-related illness on a daily basis, I particularly appreciate your organization's work in alcohol prevention. |
| John Kutsch | D | 16 | I also oppose all gambling in Illinois as an assault on the poor. No Lotto No Riverboats |
| Lane Evens | D | 17 | I have always opposed the expansion of gamling to venues that are not monitored and regulatred. I also remain concerned about underage drinking. I will continue to support regulation that prevents advertising of alcoholic beverages aimed at minors. |
