Mollie
Mollie is a Junior in High School. This is her second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Mollie says it is important for her to be a part of the ILCAAAP Teen Board because she has always looked up to everyone on the board and wanted to be an awesome role model.
She credits her mother and brother as the influence on her life that helped her make the decision to lead a drug free lifestyle. "I have grown up in prevention because of my Mom and Brother and I've always looked up to them."
Her favorite hobbies include volleyball, shopping and hanging out with her friends. The quality she looks for in friends are people who are nice, easy to joke around with and has fun.
Megan
Megan is a Junior in High School. This is her second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Megan says ILCAAAP is important to her because she had fun and wanted to give back to other people. She also says that it is important to stay drug free.
She made her decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle because of the feelings she has when she is surrounded by Teen Board members.
During her spare time she enjoys band, swimming and performing in musicals.
The qualities she looks for in her friends include kindness, loving, caring and interested in prevention.
Dan
Dan is a Sophmore in High School. This is his second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Dan said it is important to be on the Teen Board because he wants to live a healthy lifestyle, having good friends, and be a good role model.
He attributes the influence of his cousins Clare and Nick in helping him make his decision to leading a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. He wants to be healthy and make good decisions that will make his life successful.
Dan's favorite hobbies include Star Wars, outdoors, music and having fun with friends. The qualities he looks for in friends are kindness, humor, trust and respect.
Mandi
Mandi is a Senior in High School. This is her second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Mandi says it is important for her to be on the Teen Board because it combines two very important aspects that she is passionate about. She made the decision to lead a drug free lifestyle after seeing some of her friends go down the wrong path.
Mandi spends her free time going to movies and being with her friends. The qualities that she looks for in her friends are honesty and fun to be with.
Lyndsay
Lyndsay is a Junior in High School. This is her second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
She says that the Teen Board is important to her because of her strong belief in leading an alcohol and drug free lifestyle, and a Christ filled life so a strong group will help keep those beliefs.
She made her decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle after seeing people completely mess up their lives and ruin any respect they had. She says she does not want to let her family and friends down or her sister Amanda!
In her spare time, Lyndsay enjoys volleyball, running track, church activities, being with kids, scrap booking and cooking.
The qualities she looks for in friends include honesty, trustworthy, drug free, reliable, fun and easy to talk to.
Elena
Elena is a Junior in High School. This is her second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
It is important to Elena to be a part of the Teen Board because she sees it as a way to bring her faith and prevention together in her life. She also says she wants to strengthen her faith and prevention together.
Her love for prevention helped her make the decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. She was impressed by what the Teen Board has done and wanted to be a part of it.
Elena's favorite hobbies include golf, Internet, and spending time with friends and family. The qualities she looks for in her friends include care, trust, loyalty, involvement in prevention and no alcohol or drugs.
Mark
Mark is Sophmore in High School. This is his second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Mark identifies the importance of being on the ILCAAAP Teen Board because he wants to teach kids the dangers of doing drugs and alcohol and to bring faith to the kids.
He is active in Karate and says that helped him to be drug free because he doesn't want to mess up his body. He was also influenced by his brother who is a part of ILCAAAP and Mark says he wants to be just like his brother.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing card games, video games, reading, sports and watching television.
The qualities that Mark looks for in friends are niceness, humor, honesty, loyalty, and if they are drug free.
Leah
Leah is a Senior in High School. This is her third year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Leah says it was important to be a part of the ILCAAAP Teen Board because she likes all of the people she meets. She was helped to make the decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle by seeing all of the little kids at church and her teammates look up to her.
Her favorite hobbies include hanging out with friends and playing sports. The qualities she looks for in friends include kindness, being drug free, loving and honesty.
Evyn
Evyn is Senior in High School. This is her third year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Evyn says the ILCAAAP Teen Board is her inspiration to be drug free because they support her decisions.
She decided to be drug free because she doesn't want to hurt herself, friends and family.
In her spare time she loves to sail, play the flute and read.
Trustworthy and supportive are qualities she looks for in her friends.
Abigail "Abby"
Abby is a Sophmore in High School. This is her second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
It is important to Abby to be on the ILCAAAP Teen Board because many people in her family and that she knows are not in the prevention act. They have made many bad choices that she does not want to make. She says that ILCAAAP will help her live a healthy life style while including her faith.
She credits her Christian family members and friends for helping her want to lead a drug free lifestyle. Abby says that they make her want to lead a good lifestyle and also her relationship with Christ makes her want to stay clean.
Her favorite hobbies include stargazing at night, reading the Bible, going to church, hanging out with friends, and listening to music.
The quality she looks for in her friends is simplified as she answers, "Christian, that basically explains it all."
Dan
This is Dan's fourth year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Dan says it is important to him to be a part of the board because it helps him stay drug free and allows him to be a role model for others. He credits support from family and friends and his desire to succeed as things that helped him make the decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle.
Dan spends his spare time with sports including basketball, baseball and soccer, video games, card games, and work. The qualities he looks for in friends include humor, entertainment, honesty, kindness and a friend who works to make the relationship work.
Jake
Jake is a Sophmore in High School. This is his second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Dan says it is important for him to be involved with the Teen Board because alcoholism runs in his family and he wants to live a good healthy life.
He made the decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle with the help of common sense, family and friends. He said it just doesn't make sense to be high for a minute and pay for it the rest of your life.
His favorite hobbies include sports, magic cards and video games.
Qualities Jake looks for in his friends include a sense of humor, trust, honesty and drug free lifestyle.
Emily
Emily is a Junior in High School. This is her second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Emily says it is important to her to be a part of the Teen Board she wants to be drug free and this is a good way to avoid drugs and be active.
She made her decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle after hearing what happens to drug users and she decided that she didn't want that to happen to her.
Her favorite hobbies include theater, playing with her dog and spending time with family and friends.
The qualities she looks for in her friends include a good sense of humor, good listener and fun to be around.
Emily
Emily is a Senior in High School. This is her fourth year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
She says that it is important to be a part of the Teen Board because she has been able to impact so many people and it is also a great group of people and a wonderful support group.
She credits her older brother's influence and due to his involvement that helped her make the decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. Also, last year's senior lead her to this lifestyle.
Her favorite hobbies include swimming, hanging out with friends and shopping.. The qualities she looks for in friends include kind, genuine, always there for you and a sense of humor.
Kristen
Kristen is a Sophmore in High School.
She says it is important to be a part of the Teen Board because her brother was on the board and she thinks it is important to stay drug and alcohol free in High School.
Her decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle is because of the influence she has on younger children. She said she baby-sits and has a lot of kids that look up to her and she wants to set a good example for them.
Her favorite hobbies include drawing, painting, and playing outside.
The qualities she looks for in friends are supportive of her and her decisions, caring and funny.
Carlye
Carlye is a Sophmore in High School. This is her second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Carlye says she has always wanted to be on a drug prevention board, and she wants to set a good example for her younger sister.
Her interest in wanting to set a good example is what helped her make the decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. Also she wants to put faith with her drug prevention beliefs.
Her hobbies include scrap booking and hanging out with friends. She looks for the qualities of a sense of humor, caring, compassionate, and nice to everyone in her friends.
Matt
Matt is a Junior in High School. This is his second year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Matt said it was important to be a part of the Teen Board so he could meet people and "break my shell."
He attributes his decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle after seeing all of these other cool teens that lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle and he wanted to be like them.
His favorite hobbies include talking with friends, riding bikes and camping.
The qualities he looks for in his friends include being drug free and funny.
Alison
Alison is a Senior in High School. This is Alison's third year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Alison says it is important to be on the board because it's important to surround yourself with a group of drug free people and to set a good example for others in your life.
She made her decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle with the help of her supportive friends and her desire to be a role model for her little sisters.
During her spare time, Alison enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, making movies and dancing.
The qualities Alison looks for in her friends are being genuine, sincere and always there to pick you up when you need it.
Jessica
Jessica is a Senior in High School. This is her third year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
She says it is important to be a part of the Teen Board because being on the board means a lot to her because it gives her the strength that she needs to stay drug free.
Her decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle was made because she plays sports and wants to be able to always give her all in a game or practice. Also, her points out her sister Maria influenced her and gave her quite a bit.
In her spare time she plays softball and basketball. She likes to read, especially Harry Potters and play tennis.
The qualities she looks for in her friends include loyalty, a sense of humor, and someone to have fun with.
Clare
Clare is a Senior in High School. This is her third year on the ILCAAAP Teen Board.
Clare says it is important to be on the ILCAAAP Teen Board because it is a support group and helps her remain drug free. She made the decision to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle because she does not want to hurt her family and she wants to live a healthy and long life.
She enjoys singing, swimming and being on ILCAAAP in her spare time. The qualities she looks for in her friends include honesty, loyalty, compassion and understanding.
